Michael Bay released a photo of “Bumblebee” on his website that shows a menacing 1967 Camaro SS that’s been significantly modified. In previous “Transformers” movies, the Camaro has been modern. The fender flares are sweet, the deep-dish wheels looks great, and the bumblebee stripe is very cool!
Bay also has released a photo of a green, seventh-generation Chevy Corvette Stingray, which he said is race-inspired and based on the all-new 2014 production Corvette Stingray. The new Stingray coupe will hit showrooms later this year.
The plot of Transformers 4 suggests all the Autobots and Decepticons have left the Earth following the all-out war taking place in ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon”. That would explain why Bumblebee is trying to keep out of sight as a retro-mobile.
“Obviously, Camaro has played a role in the three previous movies, and we’re excited to hear that it will play a part in the fourth,” Chevy spokesman Monte Doran said. Read more!
“Chevrolet has been happy to support Michael Bay and the producers of the ‘Transformers’ movie, and we’re looking forward to being part of the fourth installment in the franchise,” Doran added.
The “Transformers 4” movie is filming in Metro Detroit this spring, after producers secured a $20 million incentive from the state of Michigan. “Transformers 4” is expected to spend $81.93 million in Michigan and to hire 368 workers.
